Biz Stone considering a 'Twitter News Service'TWITTER co-founder Biz Stone appears to be interested in creating a 'Twitter News Service', according to reports. With journalists already amongst some of Twitter's most active users - treating the service as a sort of news wire - the idea does appear to have some real value. In addition, many people now consciously follow news on Twitter as events unfold and people on the ground give first hand updates. It’s not clear what form a future Twitter news service could take, although Biz Stone told the Reuters news agency: "I think a Twitter News Service would be something that would be very open and shared with many different news organisations around the world." Whilst his language doesn’t appear to be ambiguous, he hasn’t ruled a revenue generating model and some commentators have suggested that Twitter might give access to news agencies who could effectively use Twitter users on the ground as roving reporters.
