Google Latitude gets location history

GOOGLE has added new Location History and Location Alerts for the Latitude service – a move which will excite mobile marketers and horrify privacy campaigners in equal measure.

Now, the Location History feature, enables users to view and manage past locations. The Latitude Location History can only be viewed by the user and the user can also delete selected Locations history or entire Latitude locations history.

Latitude also has a new Location Alerts feature providing alerts to frequently visited locations - the alerts feature still is in beta stage and requires Latitude History to be enabled first.

It's probably that ad support will be launched in Location Alerts so that users can get proximity-based advertising and other information services on their mobile devices.
