Google Nexus One available on Vodafone

GOOGLE NEXUS ONE should be available on Vodafone from April 2010.

Despite finally receiving a UK release following its US debut in  January, the mobile internet-based smartphone will still only be available direct from Google's online channel, rather than in high-street stores. At the moment people have to pay up to £600 for a sim-free version of the phone.

The Nexus One was much-hyped prior to its release, but data compiled by Flurry claimed that Google sold only 20,000 of the handsets in its   first week. In comparison, the Motorola Droid sold 250,000 units and   the Apple iPhone 3GS sold 1.6 million.

Reasons put forward for its mediocre performance include: minimal press build-up ahead of the launch and a lack of marketing spend around it.
