Novarra powers mobile web for TIMNOVARRA today announced that TIM, the mobile branch of Telecom Italia, has deployed its Vision platform to enhance the mobile web browsing service and offer users access to the full breadth of the internet.
The service, allowing TIM customers to access their favourite PC internet sites from mobile phones, will be available to all of Telecom Italia’s 35+ million mobile subscribers without changes to existing handsets.
Telecom Italia is deploying Novarra’s operator-grade Vision platform for mobile internet and multimedia to perform real-time transformation of web sites and optimise the result across the broad range of handsets – from feature phones to smartphones.
By integrating Novarra’s mobile internet platform with Telecom Italia’s network infrastructure, it is possible to enable Flash and streaming video across all handsets. Vision’s network optimisation capability reduces the web payload by up to 90%, thereby enabling Telecom Italia to serve up to 10x the subscribers on their existing data network.
“Novarra is pleased to partner with Telecom Italia to offer this compelling new service that increases customer loyalty, drives everyday data usage, and generates new revenue,” comments Ian McWilliams, Novarra’s European Managing Director. “We expect Telecom Italia to follow the same pattern we see in our other global deployments – increases in mobile internet penetration, data ARPU and customer satisfaction.” Leave your comments: |
